HOW TO SHOOT PHOTOS LIKE A TOURIST IN LONDON

WHEN IN LONDON MAKE SURE YOUR CAMERA IS HANDY... THERES NO SHORTAGE OF PHOTO OPS, FROM THE COOL STREET LAYOUTS TO THE CLASSIC GOTH ARCHITECTURE LONDON DEFIANTLY PROVIDES THE MATERIAL... YOU JUST HAVE TO SHOOT IT....

HERES THE THING... FOR ME SHOOTING ANY KIND OF TOURIST PHOTO WITH YOUR IPHONE ISNT REWARDING... I SUGGEST INVESTING IN A POINT AND SHOOT.... YOU SAY, WHY? I GET THE SAME WITH MY IPHONE... WELL LADIES AND GENTS IM HERE TO GET YOU THINKING DIFFERENTLY, TAKING SOME PICS THAT YOU CARE ABOUT ON YOUR PHONE JUST DOESNT DO THE EXPERIENCE JUSTICE.. WHEN HAVING A REAL CAMERA IN YOUR HAND SUDDENLY IT BECOMES PART OF THE EXPERIENCE, ITS THE RIGHT TOOL IT MAKES YOU WANT TO TAKE IT FURTHER..

OK.. WELL ENOUGH WITH THE SENTIMENTAL ROMANTICISM.. THERES TWO WAYS OF TAKING TOURIST PICS.... (IM SURE THERES MORE BUT, WHATEVER THIS IS MY BLOG) NUMBER ONE: THE LOOKER APPROACH THATS WHEN YOU PLAN AND SET UP FOR YOUR PHOTOS A DAY PRIOR TO ACTUALLY DOING IT... IM SORTA A FAN OF THIS BUT, LATELY IM GOIN THRU THIS "FREE YOUR MIND" THING THAT KINDA GOES AGAINST THIS SHOOTING STYLE.. NONETHELESS ITS A GOOD WAY IF YOU HAVE THE TIME AND PATIENCE.

THE OTHER IS THE "GORILLA I DONT KNOW WHATS HAPPENING JUST SHOOT STYLE"... LOOK, IM NOT YOUR AVERAGE TOURIST.... USUALLY I HAVE A DAY AT MOST TO CHECK OUT A CITY, SHIT SOMETIMES ITS 6 HOURS!!... I DONT HAVE THE TIME TO PLAN.. THE TRUTH IS THE PHOTOS HAPPEN WHILE IM ON MY WAY TO DO STUFF FOR WORK.. BEST STUFF HAS HAPPENED WHILE WALKING OUT THE HOTEL TO GET FOOD, OR EXTRA UNDERWEAR!! (DONT JUDGE)..

WHILE IN CENTRAL LONDON I SUGGEST YOU STAY AT THE CAFE ROYAL HOTEL .. ITS NOT CHEAP BY ANY MEANS BUT THE EXPERIENCE IS SECOND TO NONE.. MAN, FOR THE 3 DAYS I WAS THERE I HAD MY OWN BUTLER!!!!.. ALSO ITS IMPERATIVE THAT AS A TOURIST YOU STAY IN A CONVENIENT AREA JUST TO MAKE THINGS EASIER.. SPEND THE EXTRA BUCK (OR LOTS OF BUCKS.. I HATE POUNDS) FOR LOCATION.. LONDON HAS AMAZING SHOPPING YOU CAN LITERALLY CHANGE YOUR WHOLE SWAG IN A DAY.. FOR THIS I RECOMMEND GOIN TO SELFRIDGES ITS LIKE A ONE STOP CANDY LAND FOR ALL SHOPPING.. ITS KINDA LIKE BARNEYS BUT NOT.. YOU SAY WHAT DO YOU MEAN? WELL SINCE ITS A DIFFERENT MARKET STUFF THAT WOULD BE HARD TO FIND IN NYC IS ABUNDANT THERE.. FOR EXAMPLE THEY HAD EVERY JORDAN 5 EVER, AND ALL SIZES BECAUSE APPARENTLY THE BRITISH DONT FANCY BASKETBALL GODS LIKE WE DO? WEIRD... ANYWAY LONDON IS AN AMAZING PLACE TO VISIT AND IF YOU HAVE AN OPEN MIND YOU WONT FEEL INTIMIDATED AT ALL.. (NOT LIKE THAT TIME I WAS IN INDIA)..

NOT MY BEST WORK BUT HERE ARE SOME TOURIST PICS ON THE RUN..

GOOD TALK!

Toronto Film Festival

NOT BAD FOR MY FIRST TIME IN TORONTO..  THIS EVENT WAS ONE OF THOSE RARE ONES THAT COME 3 TIMES A YEAR.. CLIENT SUGGESTED I PLAY THE MUSIC I LOVE.. MAN I PLAYED EVERYTHING FROM 70S FUNK TO BRAZILIAN HIP HOP AND HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT...

SILKYNIGHTS NYC + MARQUEE +BABYIMASTAR + ENDOFSUMMERBLUES

Let me start by saying this..  I promise i wasn't in the mood to go out last night, I was tired and felt like I had lost my appetite for a day or two now.. Been putting all my attention and energy to finishing my EP (#AXELFOLEY)..  With that said, after looking at all the pics i had a blast with friends and peers... seen peeps I haven't seen in a while, I guess thats one of the good things about seeing people at Clubs; its really not ackward even if you haven't had interaction in a long time the music makes it easy to get back in the swing of things..  Brushed shoulders with my homies BFINE, PATSKY LOVE (from Juicy Norway), KIRILL, DJPHRESH, ERIC LA PEAU, DJ KLUTCH, IKE LOVE JONES, DJ MOS, DJ KISS and DJ LAWRENCE LEE AKA (SMOOTH POTATO BLUE HAIR) ETC.. DONT GET MAD IF I DIDNT MENTION YOU.. TRUST I LOVE U.. KISSES

PS.. RIHANNA ASKED ME FOR A PICTURE I WAS LIKE CHILL BABY POAW..

small fine print: also ended up at Mcdonalds because it would have been a tragedy if we didn't..

DEBARGE..

Sou Fujimoto Serpentine Pavilion Intervention

London-based United Visual Artists (UVA) has brought Sou Fujimoto’s “cloud-like” Serpentine Pavilion to life with an “electrical storm” of LEDs. With the intention of making the architecture “breathe” from within, UVA seamlessly integrated a network of LED lights into the latticed, 20mm steel pole structure that mimics the natural forms of an electric storm. In addition, carefully conducted auditory effects further enhance the experience, transforming Fujimoto’s “radical pavilion” into an electrified geometric cloud.
